I am now setting up my second HTPC, and though I would give MythTV/Linux another go. I remember the pain getting the first one barely working under linux (before I switched to windows/MP 0.13). Hardware, software, you name it - big fight, but it could be done and I had girded my loins. Then I upgraded my first box to MP 2.0 and everything worked so much better (mainly easier to record/timeshift without epg). Now, for the extra $130 microsoft tax for XP home I really can't be stuffed with the linux effort. So much for Media Portal being "free". (but worth every penny). That reminds me, perhaps I should donate...

So, there is no free software for XP?

If you ever get a free car, I'd doubt you'll be bitching about road-taxes

Funny, was thinking about doinating myself - this very minute!

    Don't like PayPal, though....

  • About The Project

The vision of the MediaPortal project is to create a free open source media centre application, which supports all advanced media centre functions, and is accessible to all Windows users.

In reaching this goal we are working every day to make sure our software is one of the best.

  • Support MediaPortal!

The team works very hard to make sure the community is running the best HTPC-software. We give away MediaPortal for free but hosting and software is not for us.

Care to support our work with a few bucks? We'd really appreciate it!
