ZA EPG support (1 Viewer)

Hi Guys,

I glad to say my MP is running nice and smooth, i have even sold my Mvix media player to upgrade my PC.

I hope i can get some help with setting up EPG, South African MP user maybe can help as to how they got theirs working.

Rekenaar did point me to the mceguide.co.za site to download the XMLTV file, but when i put in in the XML folder ans click refresh under tv server XML plug in nothing happens, am i missing something here?

Please help as this is the only thing missing for a full MP experience.

Hi there

So your XMLTV plugin is activated in TVServer Config?
You must then rename file to tvguide.xml and put in folder as configures in XMLTV plugin.
Do you have the dtd file in same folder?

I have noticed that i have this file under the Program Data/Media portal XML folder, not under Program Files/Media portal XML folder, i have changed folder setting tried to point it to either the ProgramData or Program Files folder, both instances nothing happens.

I know in on my Win7 install it would refresh and show how many channels found, with my XP SP3 install its just not doing the same.

Sorry, I am not clear on your reply here.
The folder does not matter as long as:
1. you use the folder that XMLTV Configuration points to
2. tvguide.xml in that folder
3. dtd file in that folder.
Can you confirm please?

Also please clear all log files, try to import, attach log files.

What i meant was that the default folder MP point to has the .dtd file while the one under program files/media portal does not.

I was successfully able to sort the problem out,

Is the naming of the tvguide.xml case sensitive?, i'm asking because i had it renamed as all small caps and i could not detect the file, once i renamed it to TVguide.xml it was detected.

Glad you got it sorted. Not sure about the case since I am not using it myself. I am using the ForTheRecord plugin where even the filename does not matter.

Paypal - If I understand correctly, some countries can still donate without paypal, but I also tried some time ago and was not able to donate without paypal account.
