I've recompiled the zap2xml.pl (script) file into newzap2xml_2.exe (ver 2) with an older Perl compiler. I'm not getting fasle positive A/V error(s) anymore. Apparently newer libraries (according to Github) can trigger Microsoft's Defender

Now we have a different problem, attachment deleted for the time being.

It's interesting. On my main MCE computer it works perfectly. On another machine I'm also getting your error message...

I don't know at this point. I'll keep trying different version compilers...

For the time being use the first version newzap2xml.exe and exclude it from A/V . This version works on all of my machines...

Google's answer:
The error "Can't locate object method \"new\" via package \"LWP::protocol::https::confused:ocket\"" indicates that the LWP (libwww-perl) module, specifically its HTTPS support, is not properly installed or configured on your system. This usually means the LWP::protocol::https::confused:ocket module, which handles HTTPS connections, is missing or inaccessible to your Perl script

Aha, that's why it works on one machine, and not the other. I have Perl environment on the working one. The second machine doesn't have Perl on, so it's throwing me an error.

Try this version (5) for me please.. It should work without any error, and should not trigger A/V either...

The hosts file updating method must have stopped working for me 7 days ago. I just noticed I have no more guide data. I'll be staying tuned for an updated exe.

For me it Stopped on 2025-06-16.

I used ver 1 of NewZap2xml.exe minutes ago and this time for 14 days to play safe (-d 14)

All is good (Defender disable)

I see. For some reason the compiler does not include some HTTPS libraries necessary to connect. I'll try using different compiler.

I haven't done a lot of compiling, but last time I did in Visual Studio there were options related to how much to include in the exe. The compiler you were using may have options like that too.
