ahh... to dream sometimes is better than the best of hopes. Well Kids... the IP workarounds (ie. 52.27.89.57) worked for a day and then it got wiped by the Global Tariffs ah spose. I ain't too bright at this stuff so I'll be holding my breath for one of you bright youngerns to come to the rescue as always. I feel like an exceptionally long haired blond trapped in a tower without so much as a ladder. Here's to hoping... Cheers!

Not sure what I did earlier to fail but.., I tested it again and it's 100% working. Apologies.

ditto here on 52.27.89.57. It seemed to have issues at first but worked ok this morning. there is also some issue with which version of mc2xml.exe you are using, old zap2 or new gracenotes. the gracenotes xml data has some subtle differences other than just 'gracenotes' vs 'zap2'. for now my main HTPC is working the way it used to using zap2it mc2xml.exe resulting in 'legacy' zap2 xml data and my test machine is using gracenotes mc2xml.exe which works but not quite the way it did before.

FWIW, I'm using zap2xml.exe. I switched to that from mc2xml.exe some years ago, but I do not remember why I made the switch.

@tarrow what differences are you seeing?

I used WMC for many years until it was discontinued. I think that led me somehow to mc2xml, it worked so never got around to zap2xml.

from earlier today zap2it grab was 52 channels/7626 programs gracenote grab was 55 channels/6896 programs. same silicondust tuners used by both HTPC's. Haven't dug any deeper.

It looks like the ip address keeps changing for tvlistings.gracenote.com so you have to use a command prompt window and the command "nslookup tvlistings.gracenote.com" to find the current ip address to us in the host file edit line "54.148.50.239 tvlistings.zap2it.com" substituting the current ip instead of ".54.148.50.239" old ip. hope this helps

Well that's annoying. 52.24.216.126 is what I'm using right now. If it keeps changing I'll need to figure out how to edit the hosts file programmatically right before the listings grab runs.
