    este22,
it looks like MP has a small bug by exporting all channelgroups with a sortnumber of 9999. If you change after an export this number your import later on will reflect the correct group ordering. Open YourBackupFolder\TV_USER\TvSettings.xml with a text editor and search for
    <channelgroup.
You will find an attribute SortOrder="9999"
Change this number to the desired order of your groups. Then you will see this order sequence after importing.

I think it works correctly for the channel ordering within a group.

I have now released version 1.2.0.5 after more testing was done. Thanks again to este22. This is a larger change as it supports now all plugins using standard settings for storing the plugin configuration data.

    Version 1.2.0.5 released on 18.Aug.2011
data are incompatible to previous versions! So you must do an export with this version first before importing!

    • added general database query for all settings. So the plugin will now export/import all settings. By that future setting changes and plugin settings will be automatically covered
    • between up/down grading from MediaPortal 1.1 to 1.2 the mpei installation directory will no more be restored as it can include incompatible plugins.

harryzwo, i need a log file with verbose debug activated

    which installer did you use?
Is the file RestartSetupTV.exe in C:\Programfiles\teammediaPortal\mediaPortal TV Server\BackupSettings?

How can i create a log file with verbose debug activated. The installation failed, so there is no way to activate this. I use the integrated installer from MP and no there is no RestartSetupTV.exe in the Path.

    harryzwo,
so you installed with the mpei installer from MP, where you saw the downloading window first. Then you saw the installer window backupSettings Installer V1.2.0.5, where you clicked install and got the error message from the installer - correct?

Please repeat these steps again and post a screenshot of all the text from the installer window. It starts with TV server installation detected - ...
I need all the text from this window.

To get your MP working you could try to download from the first post here BackupSettingsV.1.2.0.5.Release.zip, unzip it inot a folder and run install.exe. Does this work?

    here are the Screenshots.
With the BackupSettingsV.1.2.0.5.Release.zip installation was OK, because i should restart TVService manually.

    harryzwo,
do you also have a directory
    C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Installer\Backupsettings
If yes what files (no directories) are in this directory?
Which files (no directories) are in C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\%Installer%\Backupsettings ?
Which version of MediaPortal do you have on your computer ?
  4. harryzwo Portal Pro

    System Specs
    Ok.
    in C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\%Installer%\Backupsettings is only Install.exe

    in C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Installer\Backupsettings are BackupSettings.pdf, BackupSettingsMP.exe, Install.exe, license.txt, RestartSetupTV.exe

and my MP Version is 1.2.0 Final

    harryzwo,
thanks a lot for your help! I found it. It was a bug fix for an older version which is hurting now for the new version. I will do an update soon.
If anyone has the same issue you can either delete the C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\%Installer%\Backupsettings folder and redo the installation or use the .release.zip file from the first post.

On the first Site you has posted the new Version, but I think it is the wrong Month "August", we have now "September" ;-)

And another problem is Updating the Plugin with the Extensiuon Plugin directly in Mediaportal don't works. Because you have to confirm the Menu from BackupSettings. This is in the background and I have to Close Mediaportal with the Taskmanager to see this Menu and Confirm this. I have ask the Author of the Extension Plugin, and he told me that maybe your Plugin don't provide the SilentMode with "/s". It would be cool you can provide this so I can update automaticaly in Mediaportal
