    Sort of.

The latest log file only contains:
    [2016-08-10 16:03:47,049] [Log ] [4 ] [DEBUG] - Setting up EventWaitHandle with name: Global\MPTVServiceInitializedEvent
    [2016-08-10 16:03:47,346] [Log ] [4 ] [INFO ] - Set loglevel to: Error

...and that's it. Obviously I can't do anything with that.

Older log files show the issue reported earlier in this thread:

As I expected, once you installed the patch, that issue has gone away:

Since the patch seems to be doing its job just fine, it's unnecessary to provide a new patch for MP 1.13.

The fact that you get "no signal" when you scan is most likely to be caused by something completely unrelated... and I can't tell you what that would be. You'll have to do some investigating yourself.

    Suggestions:
    • Try using the "DVBS" network provider instead of the "generic" one (setting here). Note that "generic" is recommended. If "DVBS" doesn't work, make sure you go back to "generic".
    • Perhaps the USB port you've connected the tuner to is not able to supply enough power. Therefore try moving the tuner to a different USB port.
    • Perhaps your signal strength/quality truly isn't good enough for the tuner. The fact that your previous tuner worked doesn't guarantee that your new tuner will be able to work as well.
    • If you use a splitter to connect multiple tuners and/or STBs around the house, perhaps one of the other tuners or STBs has to be in use in order for this tuner to work (ie. understand the difference between all-ports-power-pass and single-port-power-pass splitters).

I've tried changing the network provider setting but still no success.

I also read something on the net about usb power and noticed that my stick was using the max available power for the usb hub it's on (see attached image). Could this be part of the problem?

    Thanks

Huh - never knew Windows had that information. Very interesting.

The answer to your question is: "maybe, I don't know for sure".

    For the "maybe" part...
As I said in my previous reply, USB power limitations can occasionally be a problem for tuners. When I've seen these problems in the past, it's usually been because the reporter had a lot of USB devices daisy chained with passive hubs off a single port.

The other thing to keep in mind is that satellite tuners generally require significantly more power than other tuners (because they usually have to supply power to the LNB - the thing at the end of the cable on the dish - and any connected passive switches, splitters and motors/positioners). PCI and PCIe usually have more than enough power to cover those requirements; USB can vary. For that reason, USB satellite tuners often have their own power supply brick (ie. they don't use the USB connection for power). Your tuner doesn't seem to have one of those.

For the "I don't know" part...
I have no idea how many USB devices you have, or how they're all connected.
I wouldn't expect even a satellite tuner to be constantly drawing 500 mA. My guess is that the 500 mA is a maximum rating which applies if/when the tuner is connected to a DiSEqC motor/positioner (for moving the dish).
Again, I have no idea what if any switches, splitters and motors you might have connected to your tuner.

I haven't got all the answers. Heck, I feel like I haven't got any answers. Like I said in my previous reply: try connecting the tuner to a different port. That's all I would know to try.

Ok I think it might be the device that's not working as I've tried a few different dvb software and none of them are picking up channels.

One other thing. This particular device has come from Germany, would that prevent it from picking up (UK) channels?
    Thanks

Have you tried TerraTec Home Cinema?
That's the software that comes with the tuner. If that doesn't work, you'd know for sure the fault is not with MediaPortal.
Note 1: if it doesn't work with THC, that doesn't guarantee it's a tuner fault... but it would give you enough ammunition to get support from TerraTec/Ultron.
Note 2: remember that tuners can only be used by one program at a time. So, if you're trying various DVB software, remember to close and stop the software that you're not using.

OK I'll give that a try. But according to the Terratec (devices) website the 'official' software is DVBViewer Terratec Edition, which I've used/tried, but that does find channels either.

I'll be away from my pc for a while, so when I can I'll report back with the result.

    Thanks
