MCE remote via IrTrans not working since RC3+cvn_15/04/06 (1 Viewer)

My MCE remote does not work since RC3+cvn_15/04/06, this includes the latest RC4+latest cvn.

Only the navigation buttons (left, right, up, down, OK) work, non of the other buttons work.

The last good working version I have is RC3+cvn_14/04/06, and prior to this cvn it always worked fine.

I'm using the "Origen AE VFD/IRTrans" and it worked fine with all previous RC releases, using the latest drivers supplied for this hardware.

I did notice that the first CVN where thing went wrong was showing an option for IrTrans support in the config program, however I can't find this option in RC4.

I've tested the following with clean mediaportal installs last night:

RC3 MCE Remote OK
RC3+cvn_14/04/06 MCE Remote OK
RC3+cvn_15/04/06 MCE Remote does not work propperly
RC3+cvn_16/04/06 MCE Remote does not work propperly
RC4 MCE Remote does not work propperly
RC4+cvn_21/04/06 MCE Remote does not work propperly

The last thing I did was a dirty install of RC3+cvn_14/04/06 leaving the left overs (some config files) from my lates RC4 install, and it worked first go.

Something seems te be wrong since the 15th of April, prior to this date all OK.

Anyone out there experiencing the same problem?

IRTrans support has been removed on request by the author "HWahrmann" due to major bugs that needed a complete rewrite. It will come back after ther 0.2 release, so it will NOT be in 0.2. For further questions, please contact the author.

Sounds like I'm stuck with "RC3+cvn_14/04/06" for a while.
At least it's a good working, rock solid stable version for me.

Hope the IrTrans issues get resolved soon.

Hi,

I went through a few of the search results i could find on IRtrans remotes since i'm having trouble getting it to work on Media Portal (Only the arrow keys seems to have any effect). I'm a bit confused however as it was said that IRTrans support wont be in the 0.2 version of Media Portal (which is the one I downloaded on 2006/09/03) but reading your reply to one of the previous posts you say that IRtrans is working again? Is there extra files i need to download or did i just get the wrong version?

Any help will be appreciated, thanks

IRTrans does indeed work, you should be able to find enough posts that help you configure it. Make sure you have removed the file apps.cfg from your irtrans\remotes directory (or just rename it to something else).

after renaming apps.cfg every button works.
