MediaPortal 2 includes full multi-language support not only for the GUI, but also for additional tools like MP2-ServiceMonitor etc.

You also can find more information within the wiki.

    Current MP2 translation progress:

For simplified managing all language files and translations we are using Transifex.com. To get an impression which features are offered by Transifex.com checkout their features and take a look at their tour and FAQ.

The MediaPortal 2 project is an outsourced project of the TeamMediaPortal project hub. This means the language teams defined and hosted within this hub and can be shared between various outsourced projects.
Besides MediaPortal 2, we also have a few community projects which can be translated using the existing language teams:

The current progress is very good for a few language, but we are always looking for new translators to work on new languages, translate missing strings and improve existing translations to increase overall quality.
A pic says more than thousand words:

English (of course ;) ), German, Lithuanian, and Swedish done :) nice progress. Off course, there could be quality issues, but with Transifex it's easy to change a single string, for everyone.

    Keep up the good work.

BTW: We are planning to switch the file format so that the transforming before sending or after receiving translation files from Transifex is not needed anymore. It does not make any differences for translators, but for those who would like to download the translations, it is easier to use and test them.

    Cheers,
    Tommy

Is there somehow tool for users to comment in forum (or somehow related) translated items? If it be cleared then quality could be improved by making comments and suggestions from users to translators. Sometimes it is a bit difficult to translate in the most acceptable way because of lack of terms officially translated or used in HTPC "language" world :)

At Transifex it is possible to discuss terms and other stuff language internally. So users can write a post at the language team's "forum" and report an issue. It is also possible to immediately suggest new terms or translations directly in the translation form. I am at work currently. Maybe we need to work out some work flows and step by step manuals and add them to the wiki.

This wiki or manual would be great for quality and also for best user experience in HTPC world. May be it is not so cruicual in EN or DE world but for smaller countries to have right terms translated could be very big advantage to choose MP. translation usually is big differentiattor in such soft emotional GUI world :)

Transformation done. With the AndroidFormat branch or the dev branch (soon) it is possible to use the translation files from transifex immediately, without any transformation from Android to MP2 format.

It might be that there were changes in the english language files (new ids, changed ids or changed english strings), which results in cleared translations for other languages, but if the id is still the same the translation should be in translation memory.

Sorry for this freeze and transformation, but this way we are future proof :)

THX for the great translations and the status, which we already achieved.
    Feel free to continue translating.
