Thank you very much for this!!
The integrated solutions will be better... Why don't you let the user to activate this function, with the alert to disable UAC in Vista? When you launch the external command, you wait the end of process?

    Congratulations for your excellent utility!!

The integration is a bit funky... :)
It would take away the simplicity ... but i will see what i can do. I really would like to have a solution that works for Vista and XP.

Got new version 1.0.0.8 -> see first thread entry.

I had the funny problem that MP could not be killed during resume after weeks of standby and resume on my living room pc.
So i added a feature that the pc will be rebooted if MP can't be killed during resume.
You can of course enable/disable it.

Did someone ever had the same effect?

I had the funny problem that MP could not be killed during resume after weeks of standby and resume on my living room pc.

No, but just came home to a .net error on resume, which when i clicked the good old continue, restarted TVServer splashscreen showed and then disappeared after its usual amount of time, which is strange because recording had already started 10 mins previous to my arrival, yet there's a full recording there.

Just updated to 1.0.0.8 version so will see what happens over the next couple of days :)

Sometimes this message appers... the ext time i'll get a screenshot.. I think that is your software because the splash screen is still visible, until I click continue.. if i click end the splash screen disappear and the mediaportal doesn't restart (and your software is not in the tray)...

    Thanks

I seem to still have a very strange error. I get an error that seems network related when I let the TVS and MP be restarted by this application, the first time. If I just kill MP again and use "test wakeup" every thing works...

The TVS reports: 2008-09-03 06:02:19.843750 [1]: Exception :confused:ystem.Runtime.Remoting.RemotingException: Remoting configuration failed with the exception 'System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted

    And MP reports:
2008-09-03 06:02:36.453125 [ERROR][MPMain]: TVHome: Error in Reload - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 85.225.219.83:31456

I need the stacktrace to find the cause. If someone got that .net error, then plz send stacktrace. I never got that error on my system.

J.B.N.: you can solve your tvserver exception by raise the amount of time before restart tvservice in the mpstandbyhandler options... With 0 (as default) me too get an error... raising this value to 5 i get no errors...
This because after killing the tvservice process the remoting channel is not free for some seconds and restarting the tv service cause the error because a remoting channel is already registered...
