I fixed it.. was very easy , i have spend some time researching all topics about this problem..

    Fact!:
    1) Everyone experiencing this is running Windows XP SP2 (home/prof/mce)
    2) Everyone is using a FIREWIRE device (like floppydtv)

if you see this in the TVserver log .. (warning: you can only see this when in the errorlog when you are experiencing the problem, if you restarted the machine or restart the tvservice the tvserverlog is cleared!)

    2008-03-11 15:34:54.781250 [6]: TV service PowerEventThread 537

    The solution is quite easy...
you have NOT installed the firewire patch for windows XP..
it is NOT included with Windowsupdate you have to install it manually!

it is in the MUST Install list for TVserver requirements!
    TV-Engine 0.3/requirements - MediaPortal Wiki Documentation

Performance of 1394 devices may decrease after you install Windows XP Service Pack 2

Either you didnt install it because you thought it was included with windowsupdate..
IT ISNT .. go install it!!

Or you didnt read the requirements properly!...

In my case.. i did a reinstall of SP2.. and forgot it brakes the patches ..
so after I reinstalled the firewire patch .. i have had no problem as of yet!

Cool, might be a fix for me too...
Did you have (like I do) problems with only some channels?
Most of the channels work fine for me, but 5 or 6 give this error

Aha.. thaclown .. the one responsible for me starting with mediaportal .. (tweakers topic :D )

As I read your setup intensivly (all pages a hell of a job).... you only have 1 floppydtv.. and are running tvserver.. but on the same machine as the client..
    I however.. have a seperated setup ..
    standalone server with only tvserver..
    and multiple clients
So difficult to compare i guess
With 1 floppydtv using firewire you could experience less problems.. since there is less traffic on the firewire bus..
Assuming that this makes any difference ;)

It seems to me you can get the problem " easier" by shifting from Netherlands 1 (FTA) to RTL4 (which is the software update channel also for decoders).. there is much more traffic then(assuming again) ..and you will find the powerevent 537 in the tvserver log!
if I switched between Ned1 and RTL4 like 6 times.. .. game over :) powerevent 537 was there..

Now.. i cant seem to get the tvserver to do anything but work perfectly

Haha cool that I got you started!
I do have a seperate Server (Small midi case with Floppy card) and a sepearate client (LC11).... same Motherboard on both...
    But only 1 client.

I really don't have alot of problems, just a little slow channel change and 3 channels that dont work.
I'll try the update and your TV Server Build 14 03 08 tonight ...

Amazing setup you have by the way.

My girlfriend is not so happy I got started.. spend a lot of time on it.. and she was complaining

idd.. if you dont have the patch installed.. install it.. it improves performance for FPS aswell. (in my case)
Now watching car races (which I do alot) is better , and there is no " ghosting" anymore in the picture

I hope it solves your channel problem aswell .. let me know how it goes !

Haha I know what you mean with the girlfriend issue....
I showed my girl the new Omaura TF5 (I just love that case) but she said: "you are not rebuilding it now! it is finnally working!"

I installed the patch and latest TV server + SVN last night.
I think Channel swiching is a little faster (not sure btw)

Recording works better now, faster playback response.

Have some channels without audio now (not important channels Playboy TV ;) but still...)
Think it's a codec issue.. what codec would you reccomend for Casema digital?

Mine doesnt like when I say.. i am working on the machines.. go watch GTST upstairs (there is a backup decoder ;)

Omaura TF5 .. never heard off before.. i still use normal casings.. if everything runs stable for a while I will get some fancy case with TFT or something..

For playboy tv.. you can make some noise yourself :D

I would recommend you running filmerit..
and check all your (direct show) codecs with it..
there is probably something broken in your codec setup , filmerit will detect that .. and can fix it (if you allow it)..
