Thank you very much for the help. mm1352000, you hit the nail on the head. I hadn't enabled show episode info in MediaPortal Configuration -> TV/Radio -> TV -> General Settings tab.

I'm using the Titan and aMPed skins. Turns out, enabling show episode info isn't all that great. It's showing long ugly cryptic EPxxxxxx.xxxxx numbers for all tv shows all over the EPG, except for tv shows I'm recording where they correctly show as season#.episode#

I wish there was a way to customize to only show season# episode# for shows I'm recording and not show that long cryptic EPxxxxx number all over the EPG for all other tv shows.

SchedulesDirect EPG plugin has the best and most complete EPG information. Thank you to the developpers for the great work.

As mentioned in my previous post, my main issue is that if I enable show episode info Number+Title :
1. The SD EPG plugin will clutter the EPG with long and unnecessary EPxxxxxxxx.xxxxx for TV series not scheduled for recording.
2. For movies and other shows, it unnecessarily adds empty fields (-.-.-.--) to the name.

Now, I don't know if there's a way to fix the episode info display issue by editing an xml file, or is it hardcoded in the SD EPG plugin?

xmltv EPG plugin doesn't have complete EPG info like SD EPG plugin, but in contrast with xmltv enabling show episode info Number+Title:
1. Doesn't add the useless EPxxxxxxxx.xxxxx for TV shows not scheduled for recording. It shows a cleaner and more elegant S##E##
2. For movies and other shows, in a cleaner way, it doesn't add an empty (-.-.-.--). Nothing is added to the title.

I'm new to media portal because Microsoft is dropping support and I'm sure once I get this set up I won't look back with regret. I'm having trouble setting up schedules direct. I did create a trial account and configured to have the correct line up on my account. It is throwing an exception when trying to test the connection to the web service. I added a configuration to allow the TV service through the firewall and also tested temporarily shutting off the firewall and got the same results.

The IP address is the localhost so I assume there must be something I have missed. Any information would be helpful, thanks in advance.

Since you're using the SD plugin: have you tweaked your hosts file?

Double check your "hosts" file setup. Most up to date info from SD-forums shows

you can flush your dns mapping cache to make sure there are no stale mappings, open an "admin" cmd.exe window and type ipconfig /flushdns

Thanks for the response.

I did adjust the host file as suggested in the post and made a build environment on my machine. I get an exception in the same location but a slightly different error.

I tried with the following host entry and also commented out and got the same results. I made sure I ran ipconfig /flushdns between each change.

The code I am building has the following URL for the web service so if my understanding is correct I shouldn't actually need to change the host file but tried it anyway.

I also tried the prebuilt downloaded version from the website as well as the one I built and got the same results. I can modify the code to print additional information in the log if it would help someone to figure this out. Thanks again.

Hmmm, this is odd.
Are you able to copy + paste the output of "ipconfig /all" here?
From the reference to 127.0.0.1, it just seems like something in the network config is not right...

I truly don't know what "domain.actdsltmp" is about. Not sure if it relates to the wireless device which is in the section it is. "Linksys WUSB600N Wireless-N USB Adapte" is my wireless network device that connects to the router.

In the meantime I am running a version of TV radar which is another program on the approved list. I'm doing this to make sure it's not something the schedule direct plug-in versus not being able to reach the schedules direct web service. It seems to be running now and downloading something but has not yet completed.

If this is a DNS issue - which I suspect it is - you will have random problems resolving domain names (eg. docs.tms.tribune.com) regardless of the software you use... but no problems if you use the IP addresses directly.

The more I read, the more it looks like "domain.actdsltmp" is a bad ISP or router DNS configuration.
