thank you very much for your quick response. Obviously 1.30 seems to support wifiRemote and mpextented so I can continue to use MPiviewer for ipad and that's what was important to me. it's nice to have taken the time for my problem which will undoubtedly be useful to others as well.

no, I have no idea when it changed to non-working but i can try to search. Otherwise, in the meantime, I carried out other tests. I installed 1.30 and noticed that if I installed wifiremote via the site instead of the download software it worked. I have absolutely no idea why but strangely it works.

Okay thanks, so my pc will have a bit of a reprieve :). It's still a shame that we can no longer use iviewer because it was really great for controlling MP with ipad
