Many thanks for your help. I can report that the problem is now solved - no more scrambled channel names since I deselected linkage. What is strange is that I do not remember selecting it in the first place as I do not understand what it does. I guess I must have selected it by mistake. What...
OK, so I have uninstalled all extensions, but it has happened again. I am attaching 2 files, which I believe are the logs you want, and an image file which shows the scrambled names - channels 7,8,9 and 10. All of them are BBC HD channels. The only other one that is affected is Channel 5 HD...
IT can be difficult to pick up exactly when it is happening, but I will see if I can narrow it down next time I notice it happen.
Thanks for your interest.

Thanks for the info. The TV server is as standard, I have not made any alterations. I am using XMLTV, which might be the culprit, although I cannot see why. I have temporarily disabled the off-air EPG, to see if that makes a difference. Don't think I have any other plugins that would affect...
I have been having a strange issue with MP for several generations now. Currently using 1.15.0, but as I say, it has been the same for at least two generations.
After a channel scan, sorting and grouping into favourites category, all the channel names are correct. However, over a period of...
Ok, so latest update in case anyone else happens to hit this problem.
I recently re-installed the OS (Win 7 Home Premium) as I had upgraded the processor to an i5 (from a Pentium dual core) and had been having standby problems. (System works much better now). After the re-install and...
Thanks for your input guys.
fritz.box is the name of the router, so I am guessing that the entries such as htpc.fritz.box are referring to a connection to the router? Why, I don't know. IPv6 was indeed enabled on both the server and the client, but not on the router. Have now disabled on...
Good pointer Vasilich. Have installed ProcessHacker and I attach a couple of screen grabs of the relevant sections. "OfficePC" is my desktop, which is also running as a client and working ok. Laptop3 is the client that is not working.
Only thing I can see is that Laptop port 49367 does not...
Thanks for your thoughts guys.
Unfortunately I was using 1.6.0 when the problem first arose. Updated to 1.7.0 and then 1.7.1 in the hope it would solve the issue, with no success.
Also have disabled/removed all the anti-virus and firewalls on one of the laptops with no improvement. I have...
Thanks 4Fred, I have tried both wired and wireless connections - no difference. Codecs, well laptop is set up with LAV Video and Audio Decoders, as is the desktop PC in my office - which works fine as a client (my htpc is in the living room on a wired connection and it's address is...
Ok, so VLC successfully connects to the stream on the server. It sets up a second instance and appears on the client with no trouble. Notice that when the client first establishes the stream, it appears on the server, then disappears, then reappears about 5 seconds later. Is this normal...
Affirmative. I changed the server to it's ip address rather than auto as I saw a comment on an old post implying this might cause a problem (under "streaming"). Have changed it back to auto with no effect.
I notice that on the remote client that does work (wired pc), under the TV section in...
Thanks for that 4Fred, but it was the firewall on the client that I tried disabling. Didn't help. Thanks Vasilich - apologies, I should, of course, have picked up on that information about logs first.
Anyway, have now produced the zip file and it is attached. Hope it helps.
