The reason I was thinking I needed more RAM is that TV now seems to be HiDef and so the files have grown. I edit the files before storing them, to reduce some size. It is finding that slower, I think. Or it could just be because I'm expecting more? The Baseboard manufacturer says ASUSTech...
1) I'm wondering if it is the updated computer that will be the problem? I said I wanted more RAM and he said my TV computer was many generations old. Intel(R) Core(TM) i5CPU 750 @ 2.67 GHz
2) Am using W10, tuners work fine. Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2215(F123)
I'm not sure where to post this query - I've been told, during a conversation about costs of upgrading, that W11 may not support my hauppauge tuners. And that they're not manufactured any more, as 'everyone' is streaming, so no replacements are possible. Presumably others have come up against...
I uninstalled MP, made sure no sub folders were left n any programmes folders, changed the computer name, rebooted, installed MP and set logs and rebooted and ran TVServer. Didn't do anything in regard to S Loopback adapter.
I've been using NextPvr since the problem became insurmountable...
I removed absolutely everything before the last reinstall.
The server and client are the same computer.
I don't think I have MS Loopback Adaptor on my machine - should I pursue this?
The only change you're suggesting is renaming the computer. I'll try that in the morning if I have time...
Made no difference, still same error message - "failed to startup TVService ........ No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 192.168.1.101.31456 ... etc". I did some googling, others seem to have had the same problem. Could I have a driver problem or...
Looks like my problem is more os than I thought. I've attached the error message I got when trying to run the TV server.
I had uninstalled and deleted all MP; clicked on link above and installed - no issues. But when I tried to configure TV, problems. Note - did 3.5 install, not 3.0?
Sorry for delay, been ill.
I've completely uninstalled and deleted, as suggested. And started from scratch. Still get "Set-up Database connection" window that with "dependency MySql" says connection failed, unable to connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts. Host name User-PC is still red...
I've been googling MySQL - should I have a My.ini file in the MySQL Server 5.6 folder? 'Cos I don't. (I was reading How to fix MySQL can't connect to server on localhost (10061) error)
Just looking at Programs and Features - I have 4 Mediaportal files - both the old 1.32 and the new 1.33, with one of the 1.32 with a 2018 date. I've uninstalled all 4. I'll reinstall the 32 bit 1.33 and see how that goes. I haven't removed data files. But I've noticed there are numerous...
Woops, posted to wrong thread.
I removed all sign of MySQL, rebooted, did a clean reinstall. It reinstalled 5.6, But I've still got both the same problem - unable to connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts. And Hostname is still in red. I don't understand - this is a dedicated TV...

I installed the 1.33 - still same problem. Thinking I should try removing SQLs and reinstall - can I run with 5.6.23 or should I go with something later?
