Hey CyberSimian you nailed it!
Looks like the secret is:-
After EPG Collector has Run and provided the TVGuide.xml
Open MediaPortal - TV Server Configuration
"Force Import" on the Plugins/Xmltv/General dialogue, (ignore the status)
Go to the Mappings dialogue and Load/Refresh and Save a Group -...
I will be testing this but struggling with EPG Collector moaning about not having a .dll now. I think it is Win10 update that is giving problems so having to do a re-install again but I will report back when I have sorted it out

I will test again and save this time
Because the import status showed only the Channels imported and no programs I did not bother to save them!
So the process is Import the xmltv, then save the mapped channels, and then go back and Import again to get the programmes?
I do not remember having to...
HI, Yes you are correct. I did not save the mappings because I was testing the xmltv import
The mapping always matches perfectly, the problem is that xmltv only imports the channel names and not the programme data
Thanks for your help

Hi NRivera637, unfortunately you have joined as I fail miserably to use EPG Collector to provide a TVGuide.xml file that xmltv will import to MediaPortal.
At this time there is not much information I can give you other than to point you to the EPG Collector Project - EPG Collector
I do hope you...
Thanks Gcarr, having got MP 1.6 up and running again on Win7 to match the original system that was working it is not importing the programme data so I tried your file but unfortunately it made no difference.
All channels but no programme data is imported
Thank you for your help though it is most...
I'm not sure what the difference is or where I would configure EPG Collector to get UTF-8 BOM to try it? Way past my expertise level I am afraid!
In the previous usage I never had to alter settings to get the system to work with EPG Collector to xlmtv
Thanks for your assistance
I did try and get the FreeSat guide using the grabber during all this but ran into the problems I had years back before going to EPG Collector. I don't think the FreeSat data channel exists anymore.
At the moment I am back re-installing Win7 OS and MP 1.26 to try and replicate the working system...
Well between us we have covered most avenues so I am confident it is not a silly mistake or setting that has been overlooked
It is so strange that this occurred after years of reliable work
While awaiting your reply I was referring to the xmltv format Wiki...
The 'Apply time compensation when loading tvguide.xml' is a switch I have tried many times and the picture you have was one where I had the compensation switched to "on".
It made no difference when I was trying different settings options on a "hit & miss" basis
The 'Id' is the channel number...
After connecting to the aerial and setting up DVB-T from the local transmitter I did the scan and got the 134 channels
At first I just did a sample "Favourites" type channel search on EPG Collector and let it place the TVGuide.xml in the xmltv folder. I got 17 channels and MP imported the...
Hi, thanks for getting back
I collected all channels. total 134, over 10 MB, and MP imported all 134 but ignored the data!
I will take some time and look at the data and compare it with a format example from the EPG Project but at first view it looks OK as always
The file is attached
Thanks...
So after dragging an DVB-T aerial into the loft and connecting it to my MediaPortal system I cleared my DVB-S channels and scanned the DVB-T channels on the Hastings Freeview transmitter.
I cleared data in EPG Collector and set it up just for DVB-T and again scanned the channels and got 232...
