For some reason after installing RC4 I can't reach the config window of "MP control plugin for ir-server" in MP-config->Plugins
IR-server also doesn't control MP like it should any more.

The point for me is to reduce the heat & noise inside the mediapc. If the timeshifting was done to a network drive this should at least help on the noise, but also possibly on the heat.
I have changed codec to CoreAVC. There was a lot of dropped frames when the image had lots of movement when I used Cyberlink. I even tried to upgrade to v8 without it remedying the situation. CoreAVC however is wonderful.

After reading the 1. post I realize that my problem is different than the 1 poster.
My problem is that the service stopped just after it started. And there seemed to be a connection with the Media center services. Have you tried to disable them?
I can cautiously say that I found a fix. By turning off all the Windows Media Center services in msconfig, it seems that IR-server no logner is shut down.
I noticed in the logs that there was a Media center service (scheduler something) that closed just before IR-server was closed.
Any development on this?
