Synopsis: Using the remote slows system to near halt
-----------------------------------------------------------------

I have been running 0.2 RC 1 without any big issues, but couldnt listen to streaming radio (some bug when using Hauppage remote and streaming asx streams, I think). So I decided to upgrade this great software...

I backed up my channels and the complete MediaPortal directory.
Uninstalled MediaPortal 0.2 RC 1 and installed the RC 2.

Everything worked, and all my settings was still there, great...

But when watching live tv, it doesn't matter if it is windowed or fullscreen, and use the remote to navigate channels and menus the CPU goes to 100%. A few more clicks on the remote and everything stops.
Only way out is Ctrl+Alt+Delete and kill MediaPortal.

The logs doesnt show any errors about this...

Never saw the problem in RC 1.

Any suggestions to a solution?

Should I post any additional information?

Regards

Still not working

Hi

I have tried to locate the problem by complete reinstall of Hauppage driver/software and uninstall/Delete program directory/reinstall of MediaPortal.

I seems that the remote without Hauppage IR-Blaster software installed, makes things better. As soon as I install and use IR-Blaster (plugin enabled) then 1 or 2 keypresses will hang MediaPortal.

Another issue was that the recording quality allways was high. Changing the values in Setup/TV/Capture cards/setup took a huge load of the CPU.

But now I can't change channels on my sat reciever

Anyone have any suggestions?

Getting closer

Hi again

If I change Setup/Television/Video renderer to VMR7 everything works much better.

Could it be some bug in the use of VMR9 Renderless?

Can anyone confirm this?

Going back to 0.2 RC1

Talking to my self doesn't get me anywhere...

Here is the issues I have found (there are no doubt more than this):

- VMR9 + Hauppage remote + IR-Blaster is a very bad combination

- TV Guide is unstable, all my problem gets worse when navigating the TV guide.

- Streaming radio works sometimes now (didn't in RC when using Hauppage remote), but switching from radio to TV makes MediaPortal very unstable.

- Doing "Lookup" in Movie database to fetch movie information, kills the GUI of configuration.exe.

- Changing channel in TV with the number on the remote sometimes works, other times it doesn't.

- It's not always that I can watch signals coming in through composite. Tuner mode works good (faster channel change than RC1)

Anyway, I need to please my wife and kids, and RC2 ain't gonna do that, so I'm going back to RC1.

I wish for a better RC3 this X-mas :)
