0.20 latest CVS MP3 file wont play, streams and video do wor (1 Viewer)

I had similar problem

I could play ogg files but no mp3 - It turned out I had activiated the itunes plugin. If I deactivated the itunes plugin mp3 playing worked again- maybe this applies to you as well, because from the log I saw you use the plugin as well

if you could confirm we could inform the developers about this

I had the same problem. (iTunes plugin not activated). No MP3 playback in MP. I had no idea, until I read once again the audio MP setup screen:

As a player there is default "WMPlayer 9" selected. (Second option is DirectShow player).

But I have XP SP1, and there is NO WMPlayer 9 but WMPlayer 8 !!!!
This is it!!

So solution is:
or a) switch audio player to direct show. (but there will be no psycho animations )
or b) Update Windows media player to version 9.
