I currently run 1.3 and it works well. im doing a new system build, and am looking at 1.5 pre release to install on my new hardware.
after i run the installer, i select either install, or download, it reports "No internet connection found! To continue the installation an active connection is required."

Internet is working on the computer, i downloaded the installer on the same computer just an hour earlier.

its an HP p6000 10 gigs ram, ssd drive

Is there a way to debug this?

I tried to click through and get all the way through until i get to the Recommended Extensions dialog box, and then an error pops up. it says unhandled exception has occured in your application.. clicking continue just closes the error box and the only option i have is to quit.

What can i provide to help with this

I also have a laptop and the installer works on it.

Hi - 1.5 is pre-release, so expect problems, yours outstandingly odd as it happens, wonder if short term access problem fried your install?-].

Suggest you install 1.4 on new system, update your profile with system info that system. IF [I hope it's a big IF] you have problems with 1.4, create a log dump <https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...omers-forum-please-read-before-posting.31679/>, post it, and the forum crowd will help.

As and when it's time to move from 1.4 to 1.5 should be painless upgrade - the dev's put a hell of lot effort into just that.

Do you have any kind of security software installed on this PC - firewall, anti-virus, anti-spyware?
If so, please try disabling it before performing install.
Also, do you have any "special" network/internet configuration? For example, VPN, proxy...

Indeed, very strange! I've seen similar threads before so I don't doubt that there was a problem, but like you I have no idea what the problem was.
    Oh well! :)
