I' a bit sad to move away from bass player because then i loose visualization. but at this stage using winamp i also loose it.

I had things like your jpg's

When i play an avi with mediaportal( window mode) the ffdshow icons appear and i can see "avi" preset is loaded.

But when i play mp3's neither with bass or direct show does the icon appear?

How do i make sure that ffdshow loads when playing mp3's?

if i look at graphedit while playing an mp3 with directshow music player selected it shows:

song - mpeg-1 stream splitter - MPA Decoder filter - default Directsound Device

yes if you play an mp3 the ffdshow audio icon will appear
unregister the mpa or incrase the ffdshow merit

increasing the ffdshow merit didn't help

Please don't get mad at all my question ,but how do i unregister mpa.

use this if you do not use MPA in my video, my dvd or my tv!!!

Sadly it seems like this is not a solution.

I got ffdshow to run when playing mp3's I set it up for stereo in the mixer, But even when the mixer is set up for 2.0 the sound card STILL mixes it up. So i have given up.

The ONLY program i can get to play only stereo is winamp and switching of "allow hardware acceleration"
