Hi all,

I'm making pretty good progress with getting MediaPortl to be my universal media player but I'm having some issues with the .1 channel.

UK FTA channels broadcast (mostly) in 2.0 stereo, I'd like to decode that to 5.1. I've configured the MPA and the nVidia codecs to use DPLII to output to 5 channels and an LFE channel; the issue is that I'm only getting 5.0 on TV. I'm having the same issue on audio. I'd like for 2.0 audio to be decoded to 2.1. I'm guessing that solving one will solve the other so, for the moment, I'd like to focus on the TV aspect.

To be clear, when I play BBCHD that comes through in 5.1 so MP is definately capable of 5.1 output. Also, my current amp (which I'm hoping to remove from the chain) is able to decode a 2.0 signal using PLII into a 5.1 signal so I believe the audio format supports it.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

That's exactly what I needed, thanks. I did do searches before asking but for some reason I didn't come across that thread. It's also lead me to an article on FFDShow video post processing so my channels now look fantastic on my 109" screen!

Thanks again!
