Hi everybody

I am new to MediaPortal - but loving it so far. But I have 2 questions that i hope you can quickly answer

Question 1: How can i get MediaPortal to automaticly select my downloaded cover for my movies? i have this structure:

Peter Pan/Peter Pan.mkv
Peter Pan/Peter Pan.jpg

For each folder this is my structure! How can i get MP to automaticly select the jpg in each folder for cover? I have tried renaming to folder.jpg but that does not help - and i hope i can use the same filename as my moviefile since i have A LOT of movies and it would take painfully long to rename them all

I hope you can help with this

And now:

Question 2: How can i get MP to start playing the folder when i click on it? So i dont have to click on folder and then click on moviefile again... not a huge problem i admit, but still it would be cool to just have it play the second i click the folder in MP

Hope you understand what i mean since my english is not the best in the world

Hi,

maybe both of your problems are fixed with just 1 adjustment:

Mediaportal Configuration - Movies - check "Every movie has its own directory"

For me this works; in MediaPortal then I select in MyVideo Switch View "Title".

That helped a little... It now plays the folder when i click it so thank you for that ...


but it stil did not use my cover art

I don't "do" video picture/covers, but there's a plugin that creates them - so should work in theory: MEDIAPORTAL - free MediaCenter HTPC Software - Video Thumbnailer

You could take a look at this, try it, and if it works, just rename your covers to match the location/names that it generates.

Worth a try...

Try naming your .jpg folder.jpg. This will likely cause that jpg to be used in the video view.

Thanks but that only seems to affect folders when viewing in "Files"-mode.. i view in "Titles"-mode because i use more then one folder...

Otherwise that would work...

But why isn't there a file.jpg function when there is a folder.jpg function?

Still hoping to get this problem solved
