2 weird playback issues in MP only (1 Viewer)

hey guys and girls i'm having 2 weird playback issues in MP only. i've searched around the forum and with no errors i come to you.
in win7 using either TMT 3. with graphstudio the file that dosent open in mp works with video/audio the other just video.
all my HD content is in MKV format


i redid my my pc with
win7
MP 1.1.0 RC1
Moving pictures 1.0 RC
SAV v5.00

for eg.

1: audio problem - 3_10 to yuma
video playback is fine but the audio comes in very statically.... no errors msg nothing


2: video not opening - appaloosa
in moving pictures when when i click to play nothing happens.... no errors msg nothing
i did notice that if its a new movie it does make the movie as watched.


some of the movies i tested worked fine in my previous setup now nothing. i think it may be a problem with codec.

If you have problem with video/sound, try to play your file with MPC-HC player. If you will have same problem in MPC-HC player, you possibly hit MPC-HC bug and you should report it directly to MPC-HC team here.
You can also try to play the file in GraphStudio. GraphStudio is a usefull tool available after installation of SAF. If the file plays fine in Graphstudio, you have probably found a Mediaportal bug.

is it really a bug or just a settings problem....

removed SAF v5.00 and installed v4.00 and everything is working now


edit: dang it............. just tested again and it still occurring


edit2: just tested with MPC-HC bundled with SAF and the movie played fine.
but in MP when i click play it does nothing, no errors the display doesn't change nothing

just tried the latest SAV 5.0 build and still having the same problem.......

anyone know if moving pictures 1.0 will work with the older version of mp?

ok so i uninstalled MP RC1 and everything
installed MP 1.0.2; movingpictures 0.7.5 ; SAF 4

same issue......

the only other variable is win7 x64 looks like i'll be reformatting and installing win7 x32

well, I just noticed an odd and similar issue. I have no sound in MP at all. If I exit MP, all files and streams play fine. this is on win7 32 bit. It was working fine. made no changes, and it has just stopped working. getting ready to get into the logs and dig around. will post more when I know more...

reformatted to win7 x32 installed MP RC1 and SAV v5.0 only and still got the problem.....

when i choose some movies to play nothing happens no errors no change of screen nothing...

Yes!!! RC2... it out... i think i might have to leave work and spin/reload my pc again!!!

same problem.... i think i'm messing up something with the codecs and stuff

i looked at log file and i'm not expert but dosent show an error

it just tried to load the movie then playback stops and the previous window is reloaded...

Are you using ffdshow DXVA codec? Looks like it in your logs. It gives me massive problems, sometimes even crashes Mediaportal. I use PowerDVD 9 codec and it works a lot better. Maybe give this a try. I can't see any obvious errors in your logs, but then again I am by far not expert.
