Hi

I am getting very high cpu usage when i use media portal, upto %50s. This happens when playing movies or music. Little lower when i use other stuff. I tried different codec movies but it did not go lower than 30s. I think this is too high for movie playing especially for people without dedicated boxes.

I just installed the nightly build of july 3rd. ANd that did not change much too. My installation is quite default. And even having weather on puts media portal to %5-7 percent of cpu usage.

I have a similar problem, but not quite the same? When MP is in main menu, "my videos", "weather" or whatever without actually doing anything one of my cores work at full load (50% on my dual core). As soon as I start a movie (DVD, video or whatever) CPU is back to normal, just a few percent for a DivX.

Problem does ONLY occur when MP is in full screen mode and appeared after upgrading 0.2.2 -> 0.2.3 RC1. As soon as I ALT-ENTER from fullscreen CPU-load goes back to normal.

Your not doing anything to create thumbnails (like entering a share in mypictures)? Because that leads to creation of thumbnails which is quite cpu-load-intensive.

Please be so kind to check with the ATI Omega Drivers (www.omegadrivers.net) and report back.
