Yeah, my room is too large for iMON's engineers.

My remote works only if I'm closer than 3 meters.
And it's also annoying because of "bad" angle of the receiver.

BTW do you use a CI with your card? I am planing to buy a Diablo cam and would like to know if it works with MP.

I've a Diablo card in my receiver and am just building up my first HTPC - looking for the best DVBS2-card to buy right now. So I could and will test using Diablo together with MP1 any time soon (hopefully still in this year ;) ). But I would have better liked a softcam support to watch the nice programs of our Austrian neighbors though (I know it's not going to happen).

I would suggest that you compare the three cards: Twinhan AD- SP400 (sold as Azurevawe)...

I consider this card to buy for a start with TV-server. Anyone's using it and can confirm it works and there are no major problems? I read above that it's the same hardware as SkyStar HD2, but this particular card is not mentioned in the recommended DVB-S2 card list. The other choice would be FloppyDTV, as everyone recommends this one. I don't watch so much TV, but it would be used from time to time. Spending €200 for this would be not very reasonable, I think.

    Best wishes in NewYear,

as I said I have neither with the Technotrend S2-3200 nor with the Skystar HD2 issues with Mediaportal. No problems with channel scan, standby, HD channels or channel switching.

This was not the answer for my question, but thx anyway, kszabo. And now focusing on your two cards, which one should I choose?

as I wrote befor the Skystar HD2 and the Twinhan are the same under different labels. So this is kind of answer I guess.

I would buy the Skystar HD2 (or Twinhan or teratec Synergy S2, whatever you want it to call). Cheap, small, own power connector, stable with MP. Optional CAM costs 30 €.

    Floppy DTV (has CI-Module) = 160 €
    Skystar HD2 with CI-Module = 100 € (without 65 €)

    EDIT:
sorry, my mistake. I was talking about a CI-Module for CAMs, not about a CAM itself

Sorry for being so inquisitive, but I still don't get something. You wrote, that FloppyDTV has its own CAM, if I understood correctly. On the digital everywhere web site I found different description:
    - Compatible with most popular CAMs
    - Tested with several PayTV providers
PayTV channels require a CAM and a valid smartcard (subscription).
All cards have CAM slot (FloppyDTV integrated on the board), but none of them have own CAM. This would be tough, I guess, since there are too many scrambling systems available. This way with Floppy I still need CAM, so it changes a little the price comparison.
    Correct me, if I'm wrong.

Anyway I have full picture now, so I will buy one of these cards next week. Big thanks!
    Regards,

excuse me, my mistake. I was talking about the Common Interface module (where you put the CAM with your smartcard inside). The floppy DTV has this onboard, for the others you have to buy separately.
