MediaPortal Version: 0.2.2.0

Windows Version: xp sp2
CPU Type: core duo
Sound Card: SigmaTel SPDIF Ausgang
MPEG2 Audio Codec: AC3filter

Hello together!

I actually can play divX-Movies with 5.1 ac3 Audiostreams in Mediaportal with real 5.1 output through SPDIF.

I just wondered why I can only get real 5.1 output when the option is configured in the MPA-Filter Config of MediaPortal.

Also if I have selected that I wanted to use the AC3Filter-codec (which is available for download seperately) for audio decoding I won't get any 5.1 output through SPDIF, its just stereo.

If I go on and keep the AC3Filter-codec still chosen active and configurate the deactivated MPA-Filter to 5.1 output then i will get real 5.1 output!!!
I think it is kind of strange that i have to configurate a deactived Filter to get the (really acitvated) Filter working the right way.

Well, I hope you can figure out what I mean...

PS: for playback in 5.1 i suggest you to install AC3Filter in latest version and FFDSHOW and HaaliMediasplitter (probably needed for multistream-files with multiple audio streams)

Hallo Zusammen!

Trotzdem Leute -> Klasse Arbeit *daumen-hoch* -> DANKE

Hi Suparol, please keep this forum in english...
When my german is as good as i think (and it's not!) I'm having the same (sort of) problem.

I use an Audigy 2 soundcard which is connected (analog, 3 plugs) to my Logitech 5.1 set. When I play movies (DivX/XviD) with an ac3 5.1 soundchannel in VLC-player I get perfect 5.1 sound. In MP though, I can only play stereo. Where do I configure these settings. Or do I have to install some sort of plugin to play ac3 5.1 correct?

Sorry for the entry in German language. I thought the forum would also be kept in german... my fault
but we can do this in English too ;-)

Hee Suparol, sorry for the late reply... By the way, U were correct using German. I failed to recognize that this topic is in the language specific section... I came here via forum search...

Last night I found out my Audigy wasn't correctly installed... Mayb it had to do with installing AC3Filter, since it was solved when I uninstalled AC3filter and reinstalled the soundcard... MP configuration wasn't necessary, it played the ac3-track by default :D

Maybe U should try to uninstall the AC3Filter and use the (latest) drivers that came with your soundcard?
Last night I also noticed that the AC3Filter can (and needs to?) be configurated (see XP configuration screen).

Hope u can work it out! GL!
