OS: Vista
Soundcard: av710 to amp via optical/spdif.
Software: ac3 filter, ffdshow tryouts, latest mp

I had this all working before but I can't do it now. Using wmp I get the correct behavior, ac3/dts passthrough and video with mp3 audio is decoded by ffdshow and ac3filter sends the pcm to my amp. In mp I can only get everything playing via 2 channel pcm, or only ac3/dts passthrough.

Settings:
Windows: disabled all sound devices except digital output with the av710 (latest drivers from via arena).
Av710: spdif enable, ac3 or pcm auto, 5.1
Ac3 filter: Output format: as is, using spdif, enable dts+ac3 passthrough.
FFDShow: disabled dts/ac3 decoding.
MP: Movie playback: audio decoder: ac3 filter, audio renderer: directsound digital output device spdig (envy24)

With this setup i get no sound from movies with mp3 audio. Help!

I resolved my issue by uninstalling the drivers from via and using the ones that come with vista. SO HAPPY NOW.
