    That could be true indeed.
    Only I don't know if there is a valid use-case that playlists are created from songs that are not in the database.
    @Developers: any idea?
    Alternative is adding those songs to the database if they are not found.

    We can make playlist from files not in DB, in shared mode ...

    Maybe need add global cache for this?
    one of the first things I did :)
    However need a good strategy to invalidate it (f.e. if server went offline, you'd want to check this) and see that it's thread-safe

    Would it be bad if those songs would be added to the database? At least subsequent opening of the playlist would be fast...
    Could however result in a very large database...

    I don't think the server will change its address. :)

    We have two modes of operation, one with files and one with the database. I don't know if data is added to the database when working with files.

    Are you referring to the different views as described here?

    I use the Shares (folder) view only and each single music file is listed in the tracks table of the MP database.

    You ran a database scan, if you didn't, it would work the same way and there would be nothing in the database. :coffee:

    Even new music files are automatically added if the Auto update DB on changes in share option is enabled.
    Yeah, but my music library hasn't changed in over 5 years. Others have this option turned off. So this is an individual case and not standard practice. :)
