I am trying to get this dual tunder to work with MediaPortal. It will scan and locate the channels but I can't preview any of the channels. There are a couple of threads indicating the tuner might require some "specials" to get it to work.


Here is a log where I scanned for a few channels and then tried to preview one of the channels that was identified.

However I don't understand why the problem is happening. Did you try the suggestion I posted on the other thread (for those who follow in the future: link) about setting the audio input on the channel?

Have you checked the video standard, resolution and frame rate settings on the "settings" tab for the tuner (wiki info -->here<--)?

I did try setting the audio to tuner instead of Automatic. Unfortuantely no go.

I also looked at the video standard, resolution and frame rate settings I had selected the NTSC recommended choice but also tried the NTSC broadcast TV. Again no luck.

Family is home now so I have it back on BeyondTV. When I get a chance to get back on, I will expicitly create logs with Audio set to Tuner instead of Automatic and will try confirming the video standard I am trying to use.

I was thinking that starting with the analog tuners would be easiest. so much bor best laid palns.

Ok I tried this all again
Cleared channels. selected one of the adaptec tuners. scanned a few channels in Tried to preview them by chaning the signal type and frame rate.

In my case the signal is NTSC and it should be 29.?? fps.

I don't see the tuner initialisation in those logs, so do you know if you're still getting the "SetFrameRate: FAILED no format returned" message?

I've done some searching in the forum and it seems like a user named "garry" had the AVC3610 working about a year ago. At the time he said he would submit a patch to the team, however I can't find any record of that. Unfortunately it seems like garry moved on from MediaPortal earlier this year, however I have PM'ed him on the off chance that he might be able to share the patch he had (or at least give me some insight). Let's hope I hear back from him...

Thanks for trying to follow up. hopefully garry will have an answer.

I thought I had done what was needed to make the logs useful but perhaps I needed to restart the TVServer to get the tuner initialization.

PS on a separate note. I am trying to SchedulesDirect plug-in. IN schedules Direct, I have configured 2 line-ups one for the analog cable channels (2-99) and a second for the digital channels (0-999). How to the channels scanned by the TVServer get allocated to the channels in Schedules Direct line-ups?
