Add a new scraper - sports (1 Viewer)

Does this module have the ability to have additional scrapers added? Ones that scrape from sites not now handled? If so, can someone point me in the right direction on where to learn how to write one? Particularly, I want to write one to scrape formula 1 races. I have a few potential sites chosen with data and APIs.

I'm pretty sure this would be more than just a new rule, right?

MP-TVSeries plugin uses the API for thetvdb.com only,

you might want to look at using Moving Pictures for your sports since you can create your own scraper for that.

because i wanted to treat the F1 races like a tv series, i ended up manually editing the database. i have things working - they list ok and play just fine. all i have to figure out is why a couple of the image settings aren't working like i expected. series screen works, season half works, episode doesn't work. by 'work', i mean present the art that i expected. i attempted to mirror the folders created for another show. i'm not sure i found them all. i see there are some in cache locations.

for a series id, i used -1000. for season number i used the year. for the season id i used -1001, -1002, etc.

when i get a chance while at my other computer, i'll post my table entries for anyone interested.

saddly, i couldn't find ready-made banners, posters and so on, so i've had to make my own.

i wasn't entirely clear on all of the fields. for example, i'm not sure what the effect is of marking a series 'ended' instead of 'ongoing' (or whatever the opposite of ended was). does this keep the plugin from scanning the folder and attempting to download art?

does anyone anticipate anything 'bad' happening as a result of a mis-entered field?

i wish i had time right now to properly contribute some patches to scrape fo this stuff, but realistically, my free time is booked for like the next year almost.

but at least it seems to list and play just fine. so if anyone else comes across this, it can be done without too much hassle.
