Hi, I have a question, that feels sort of stupid, but hope you will help me anyway, corz I sure can't figure it out.... I just wanna add music to the collection in the program.. I just showes a folder "music", but I can't add to it, or add a folder anywhere... Feels pretty odd that I can't figure out even to use this simple thing , so hope you can lead me on the way

No worries - we've all "been there" sometime :)

First: Make sure to read the manual -> MediaPortal/Configuration/Music - MediaPortal Manual Documentation

    In short:
    - Add the folders that include you (tagged)music
    - Scan/update your database (DB)
    - Optional: Customize you preferred view type (like "Artist". I always remove the grouping).
    - Recommendation: Use DB view in MP - not shares. Reasons: Speed AND look.
    - Tip: Sign in to a last.fm account, and use the Audioscrobbler plugin to get album/artist-art ("pictures")

    HTH :)

    DB-Timeout?

    Hi Spragleknas (hwahrmann reading also?),

I have a "special" problem with the DB-View:
When entering the Albumview the first time, mp often only shows ONE Album - going one step back to artist view and reentering the Albumview, it shows them all.
Sounds to me like some sort of timeout? Ist there any possibility to "tweak" the local SQL-DB/engine to avoid this?

    Thanks for your support,

    Guzzi

PS: Here is what I find in the Logfile while entering the mentioned menu (debug Mode):
