Added surround sound, broke res when turning tv off (1 Viewer)

MediaPortal Version: 1.2.0
MediaPortal Skin: streamedmp
Windows Version: 7

I bought a poineer HTIB setup a few days, and when I turn the TV off then on again it breaks mediaportal's res (Shifts everything to the left, and can see the desktop) if I turn the amp off (everything runs though the amp) it will cause MP to crash.

i tried this: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/722763-post222.html however my nvidia card doesn't allow me to set anything over 1600x1200 when connected via remote administrator or teamviewer.

I believe there are other workarounds suggested in the thread although I don't follow it closely. There is also a solution for the roadblock that you hit -->here<--.
