I first off apologize if this has been covered anywhere but I have search on a number of occasions with no results.

I have Mediaportal 1.2.3.0 and I have finally gotten it working really nice and now down to little things. I have DishNetwork as a provider and when changing channels to have the channel change immediately one either has to hit enter or put in -00 on lower channels. I would imagine just having the enter command sent would be the ideal situation.

I have searched over the configuration and forums and cannot find mention of this anywhere. Is it possible to have the enter command sent so I do not have to wait a few seconds to change channels?

I am using a Hauppauge Colossus and using its IR blaster.

Thanks for any advice.

First off, thanks for the reply.

I played with the settings and it doesn't seem to change anything. I restarted the services after I made changes too. After reading about it I thought it would but apparently not.
I guess elaborating a bit may help.

If I am choosing a program from the TV guide, click on it and lets say the channel is 56, the OSD will show up, shows 56 being entered and will sit for about 3-5 seconds showing 56- in the OSD until it actually changes the channel showing 56-00. This is about the same delay that would happen if you were to just hit a number on the Dishnetwork remote without hitting enter before the input is actually processed.

If you were to type in 56 and hit enter/ok on the remote it is instant as would entering 00 or -00 or so I'd imagine and it why I commented about having an enter command sent or something. It really seems like 56 is being sent without enter/ok being hit and the delay is the normal delay DishNetwork has when just hitting numbers without enter/ok.

If I open the IR blaster config software and enter a channel and send it with MediaPortal open, it changes the channel instantly without delaying on 56-.

Thanks again for taking time out to help.

    Hello again

Thanks for the clarification - that makes me more certain that those settings are relevant.
MP would need to be restarted in order to apply the settings.
You should be able to set the zap delay to 0 and the zap timeout to 1...

I've played around with it a bit and have determined this only happens on the local channels. All other normal channels work properly, ESPN for example, 140, happens instantly. It is only the below 100 channels this happens to.There is no such thing as 140-00 according to the OSD, the -00 only appeared from the local channels.

Who knows but the zap delay does not go with this issue it seems. It does with the above 100 channels like stated but not the ones ending in -00. If you can think of anything else I'd be willing to try but if not then I still appreciate your help.

    Hello again poggin

I'm a little confused when you mention the "-00" thing.

First, MP does not support zapping X-Y or X.Y ATSC format channel numbers. This is a shortcoming that I've been aware of for some time. I'm slowly pulling the pieces together that will enable us to add support for this.

Anyhow, in practice what this means is that you have to enter a regular number to zap. No asterix, hyphen or period.
    You have two choices:
    1. Zap by index.
    2. Zap by channel #.
I'm referring to the "select channel by index (non-US)" setting in MP configuration:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_MEDIAPORTAL_1/141_Configuration/MediaPortal_Configuration/22_TV

In the context of ATSC and North American cable, the channel number is currently the physical channel number associated with the channel.
If you open TV Server configuration, go to the "TV Channels" section, and then select either the "all channels" tab or one of the custom groups you've created you'll see the channel numbers that you need to enter there.

Zap by index takes you to the Xth channel in the list.

So by way of example, if you enter 100 and have "select channel by index (non-US)" unticked (ie. zap by channel #), you'll go to the channel that has channel number 100. If you enter 100 and have "select channel by index (non-US)" ticked (ie. zap by index), you'll go to the 100th channel in the channel group.

    Does that help?
