Hi - i'm totally new to MP.
Just installed it on my PC (IBM Laptop T42).
I have an external Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2, which works fine with other PVR software (e.g. Sage).

However, when running the Setup application, choosing "Television/Capture Cards/Add" - it does not detect any card.

Any idea?

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. I know what MCE in general is. I don't understand what does the "MCE drivers" mean. MCE drivers of what? from where?

Let's talk specific. If I go in MP site to "downloads, drivers, tv-cards, Hauppauge Drivers, Download" - I see a table (http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/board/showthread.php?p=25253). The only MCE thing there are drivers ("MCE tools"?) for two totally different cards.

What should I do?

Thanks for walking me through this...

Ok, I already tried it last night, but all I got was a BSOD.

there are two relevant folders in this zip, as I see:
WinTV-PVR-USB2_24xxx_2.2.73.24023 (WHQL)
WinTV-PVR-USB2_29xxx_2.2.73.23298 (WHQL)

I took the 29xx (latest?).

There's no install, so I did just a "add hardware" and selected to INF file. It recognized the Hauppauge card name, and started installing, then I got BSOD.

Any idea how to continue?

Also, why is all this needed? the card works fine with other PVR software (Sage, GBPVR).

No the 29xxx, and 24xxx are the card series number. Somewhere on that unit it should have one of those numbers (eg. 24001 or 29002).

Ok, got around to try it again. Still no luck.
Checked, and my card has a 24xxx number.
So, I saw there's an "install" in the 24xxx folder. tried that - installs fine but the MP setup still doesn't find a card. Then I try the Control Panel add new hardware, and choose the INF file from the 24xxx folder. It started to install, but then got the BSOD again...

I really want to see MP working here. please...

Usually the steps for a clean driver install is.

    1) Make sure you completely unistall all Hauppauge related programs from Add/Remove Programs

    2) Reboot

    3) Run hcwclear.exe

    4) Reboot

    5) When the card is detected on startup, point it to that correct directory.
