I am using 64bit Windows 7 in English

I am logged in as a user, but that pathway

    C:\Users\Public\Recorded TV folder (mp's default)

is not found. I am at work now and will double check later on

NB: I only have one tuner on my laptop

OK, so if you open up Start\computer and see the HDD, then click on that, can you see a folder named "Users", if you can then open that, now what do you see, if it is the name of the computer user, then click on that, is there any "public folder" seen now.

None of the above seem to be hidden, so you should find them without changing any folder settings.

Guys, I have two days of not needing to capture anything and I have reinstalled MP. But this recording path has got me confused

I have recordings that I cannot find on the laptops hd. All of the info provided above is the same. Regardless of how I am logged in.............I cannot find the recorded data.

    MP indicates this recording path

But there is nothing to be found in any of these folders (?????)

Right if you go into the public\music folder, does there exist folder named "Media Portal Recordings" then suspect nothing has been recorded, if it does not exist.

Create a folder in my Documents "TVRecordings" inside that folder create another folder named "Timeshift", point TVServer Recording and timeshift settings to these folders, now does everything work, at least for the documents folder there should be no permissions problems.

Ok, I created those folders . I even tried to do some test recording but halting a recording seems a bit difficult. I am now getting some timeshifting stopped due to a scheduled recording message. Seems like even if you do a test recording and stop it................when you go back into MP it starts again even though I ended it

Earlier, I was able to view short recordings in MP, but now I really can't do anything useful. I don't want to unistall it, but I seem to be encountering way too many problems.

    I have this laptop

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/VPCEB4E4E-WI-Intel-2-66GHz-500Gb/dp/B0053CD3PE

These recording problems have prevented me from seeing if changing the pathway for recordings etc has worked.

Ok. My recording did not work and I got an exceptional error message. Hopefully, the log I have attached can make things clearer

    The problems I am encountering

    Not able to schedule recordings
    Inability to halt recordings
Not able to find' recorded' files anywhere on the machine

    "DeleteRecordingOnDisk: 'C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\recordings\Time Team Special - Channel 4 HD - 2012-04-22_1.ts'"

That is the normal default "hidden" system folder that TVServer uses, to see that inside windows you need to change folder options to "view hidden files and folders"

As you can see recording is trying to be created in public\music\media portal recordings does this folder exist, enable view hidden files and folders and see if it is there.
