See what you mean, its fine in actual view, but if you do a search then everything goes overlapping, added to list to get Sambal to look at, as xml not graphics related, so out of my ability.

    Hello all,

I'm a complete n00b to all this stuff (including windows). I installed the skin successfully (looks beautiful btw) however my homescreen doesn't look like the nice layout on the first page, instead it's a vertical layout. If I navigate to the a checkmark in the upper left then the screen changes to the nice horizontal scrolling menu. I'd like it to start in the latter menu when I boot the program. Any advice?

Capt Crunch: Open Mediaportal Configuration and under General, tick the option "Start with basic home".

Here are the skin files for For The Record, I have gone though these and updated them - they are not 100% pefect but should be fully usable.

Will go over them in more detail after the weekend and sort any issues....

    Very cool! :D

If/when these are finished enough feel free to upload them on the For The Record forum and I'll also make sure they are included in the next release so they'll be installed automatically.

    Thanks!

Back to looking at these now and hope to sort out the final issues but tomorrow. There are things that dont seem to work or I am lacking info. Is there a list of control ID's and their function, also what '#' tags are available?

Will upload them to the For The Record forum when done.

    Cheers

Thats not entirely true, if you tick the "show db info in shares view"(or something like that) option in videos section in configuration.exe, you can get DB info in shares as well :) I know, since Ive used it since we had to use patched files to do this for months before it was finally implented.

Btw feel free to add my playlist fix to svn, because I wont :p

Are you using a custom config.exe? I don't have the option for db in shares view. I seem to remember that awhile ago in another skin.

Nice, i didn't know about this feature.

In the configuration tool go to Movies and tick 'Every movie has its own directory' this should do the trick.

Yes, it's part of MP now, but you have to have all your movie files (.avi, .mkv etc) in the same folder. If you have the files in subdirectories MP will show the movie poster, but no info. Ticking "Every file has it's own directory" does nothing regarding this afaik.
