Greetings all I got a new Samsung 1080p 46" LED 3D TV today and im loving it with MP!!! Something changed now.

I have a curious new issue now that my new TV can do 24p. With Aero on i get perfect picture with 24p(23.976) blu ray rips and mkv's. Im using CoreAVC 2.0, SAF 5 09172010 version with Halli Matroskasplitter installed for my blu ray stuff. With Aero off i get tearing on 24p media.

When i play tv channels (DVB-T) it uses MPEG2 at 50Hz. With Aero on i get tons of lost frames and the picture judders like crazy and its very unwatchable. With Aero off i get lots of lost frames...but everything looks PERFECT. Strange eh? The codec used for video is DTV Video Decoder.

What would be great is if i could force aero on for TS files(50hz) and off for everything else.

Any idea how i do this?

ive found some more info about the tearing effects when aero is off detailed in this thread and the quick hack MP uses to mainly fix it

ill try futher on alexirion's post when i get home

    also...

theres an option in the dynamic refreshrate changer built into MP that allows u to execute an external command when switching between refresh rates..if any1 has an idea what i should put there to switch between aeo/non-aero themes in that external action field it would be appreciated :

    in bat file use:

    enable aero
    net start uxsms

    disable aero
    net stop uxsms

hmm..ok this is weird ....now everything works

24p and 50hz work without any dropped frames and look perfect
my TV has a popup display saying "24Hz" or "50Hz" so i can see it when it switches between the two

i did a few things before it fixed itself but i dont know which one made the difference:

i ran setverticalfrequency.exe from my anydvd hd install..as i was putting that on at the time..didnt realise i clicked it till i did..lol

i put in as gibman suggested ... bat files with net stop/start uxsms in the action field of the dynamic refreshrate changer..but that didnt seem to change anything.. or perhaps it errored out as it no longer would switch between refresh rates at ALL. I tried just putting the net start/stop uxsms in the field also..but that didnt do anything either... so i removed them and went back to the default setting.

with an Aero theme on i switched the option off in MP config app under "General" for "Blank screen when switching"...i switched it on for testing but i didnt see any change to begin with...its off by default

now its all good with my selected codecs, switching is quick and playback is smooth and no lost frames!!!! WHOO HOO!

so i dont know if it was 1 thing or a combination of things....also the TV is new and it may have a few kinks..but now everything is perfect im so happy ...i can wait to watch the AFL Grand Final this weekend...GO SAINTS!

    thanks all for ur help
