    Hi,

    MP 1.1.1

I had restarted MP and on the middle of booting it reset my PC. Once up and running again I tried to restart MP and got to the main menu no problems, but when I select TV Guide I get a screen,

    TV set-up, settings,
Please specify the IP address or host name of the master TV service.

This is the host PC with the sat cards etc, I don't use streaming or anything to any other MP PC's. It seems to me that somehow after the crash MP thinks it it a client PC....?
I also do not use MPWI.

    Ian.

    UPDATE:-
    Logs attached...........appreciate any help.

PS. I have backups of all files, so if I have to replace any particular file then let me know.

    Ian.

    Hi all,

Having been in and around software design for 20+ years, one learns to take backups.....even the most rudementary.

Yesterday I had backed up the entire folder c:\Program Data\Team Mediaportal
So, I just copied it back warts n all from my backup drive and the problem is fixed.

Would love to know what caused it though.

PS. Would also love MP to be more reliable!

    Ian.

    Hi,
Not seen this for some time (actually since i updated to Vista, so yes some years), for some reason the C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\MediaPortal.exe.Config" gets corrupt / removed & I'm not sure why this happens, can be Windows doing it or bad HDD, but i dunno...

    Regards
    Roy

    Hi,

I've had this file corrupt a number of times, usually it is completely cleared (empty file). However, in this case that wasn't the problem as I had copied my backup over first but the problem still existed.

    Ian.
