My HTPC does wake up automatically when a recording is due. However even though the PC does restart, it's not fully functioning before I push a button on remote or do something using mouse or keyboard. If I even just touch the mouse, then MP is immediately resumed and the recording commences. Before that, the display is not on and MP is not running.

This started to happen a few days ago, before that everything was working ok. I've upgraded MP & TVE several times earlier with success, before this started to happen. Now I tried with the latest SVN version, as well as some older, more stable ones, and experienced the same issue.

Any ideas what could help?

Screensaver and all power saving settings are disabled. Even though the power led is on and all the fans are running, MP & TVE3 are not resumed before I use remote/mouse/keyboard and I'm certain about that; scheduled programs don't get recorded and also the display of my case is not restarted automatically. I don't recall changing any settings on my PC.

If I wake Windows using remote, then it works perfectly.

There are some D3D errors in the mediaportals logs, have you updated to the latest ATI drivers just before problems occured, i honestly cannot think of anything beside a screensaver, that would complete activation on resume, just confirm screensaver is not set in MP config.

I assume you have all the revelant settings, ie wait for tvserver to start before resuming MP (I also set a 30 second delay on this one just in case).

There are some D3D errors in the mediaportals logs, have you updated to the latest ATI drivers just before problems occured, i honestly cannot think of anything beside a screensaver, that would complete activation on resume, just confirm screensaver is not set in MP config.

Even if there was a screensaver on, TVE and MP would be resumed. However, as I said, the system is not completely resumed before I touch something.

If it has its pretty unique, sorry friday night is snooker night, but been thinking about this, there is nothing i can relate that would possibly cause system to resume ok, by mouse\keyboard, whether it is system related (gone through that) or driver\HW.

I am as stumped as you are on this one, anyone else experienced anything remotely similar, answers\replies appreciated.

I have had the same issue for long time. It seems to be HW or drivers related. Only workaround to that issue was following:

- Not to use MST to kill MP when going to standby (Seems that some DX application is needed to be running, otherwise system is not going to broadcast wakeup message as it's running only a scheduled task)
- Tick restart MP after resume option in the config. This will bring the screen on

Hopefully that works for you. I have been using that as a workaround for half a year.

Even that didn't work. My PC is completely brain dead after waking up. When I touch something, then it immediately recovers.

I haven't updated any drivers at all, and don't remember any other changes to the system. This started to happen a few days ago after several MP & TVE reinstalls.

Check your log in settings, have you another user, ie .net account delete it.

This is really my last thought on this one, something is resuming Windows itself with a mouse\keyboard movement, drivers would be out of the question causing this, it has to be the OS.
