Hey guys

What tools do you use to download cover art for your music library? MediaPortal doesn't download a cover until you haven't played the song, but I want to see some covers while I'm browsing through my library.

Do you use plugins or external tools?

Do you use StreamedMP as your skin? If you do, it does a good job of automatically downloading the cover art via the included FanArt scraper utility. Let me know if you don't know how to operate this (it can be run outside of mediaportal or inside the program).

Alternatively, you can use a program like MP3tag (free) to update your tags and embed album art directly in the files.

Additionally the last.fm plugin contains a downloader for cover art (go to configuration, plugins, last.fm). You have to set up a user I think for last.fm (can be quite anonymous)

Good point, mbuzina. I know that the next version of the Fanart plugin will automatically scrape Last.FM in addition to it's usual source of fanart, and it's been projected that Mediaportal 1.3 will have the Fanart plugin fully incorporated into Mediaportal itself.
