ALL Cards are busy.... (1 Viewer)

Hi I am new to MP and I am trying to setup the TV Server to my Home Run Prime Cable card! I have setup and added channels but when I go to test channel it says all cards are busy!! I cant figure out what is causing the problem.

Help Please!!

...are you running the latest beta firmware, or at least a version more recent than July? If not, that would explain the problem.

If you are running new firmware, we're going to need a bit more detail from you in order to be able to assist. Please could you follow the instructions here:

Basically, use the watchdog/debug tool with option 3 to gather and zip your log files, then post/attach the zip file here.

Hi,

I do not want to open a new thread.

I have a multiseat installation and made a complete fresh install of my server after changing Motherboard and CPU. I Use a DD Cine Dual S2 Tuner Card without any CAMs.
I came from 1.6pre and installed 1.6pre again after reinstalling my server, exported all channels and settings from the TV server before that and reimported them without any problems.
Now, MePo shows me that all cards are busy on the server (test channels) and on the clients.

Can I make a new scan just to update the channels without adding new channels? (I don't want to sort everything again, takes a lot of time, hope this improves with TVE3.5...)

You don't need to scan. Just ensure the channels are linked to your tuners. Seems many people get confused by "all cards busy". A quick check of the logs shows the full picture...

Hi.

Just ensure the channels are linked to your tuners.

I'm pretty sure this is a wrong default behaviour of MP. If I do a scan on any other device (STB or TV or so) I don't need to fiddle with mapping at all. Imho MP should map all found channels to all cards of the same type automatically (e.G. User did a scan with DVB-S2 and MP maps all channels to all DVB-S2 cards available without user interaction) and leave such special things for experienced users... This would lead to a lot less painful setup of TV Server and much better User Experience... Scanning for channels is well known as necessary, mapping those channels to every card separately is a special HTPC thingie no one knows off...

I think I'd recommend you delete all the channels and start from scratch, following the wiki.

In other words:
1. TV Server only knows it can use one of your tuners. You haven't linked/mapped the channels to the other 3.

2. You haven't told TV Server that your tuners can decrypt channels.

If I could say two things to you they would be:
1. Read this and do what it says:

2. Don't proceed until you've done a successful scan... and by successful I mean that you shouldn't have many (if any) channels named "Unknown... ".

Do not be afraid of deleting all the channels, bumping the SDT/VCT timeout up to 600 and rescanning.
