I just had a look at KMPlayer and noticed that it uses libavcodec (and some mediasplitters). Libavcodec is integrated also in FFDShow. As a matter of fact it even is the STANDARD decoder after installing FFDshow. I don't know what your system looks like but if there are massive differences in speed and reliability between FFDshow and KMPlayer maybe something is configured wrong.</p><p>The other thing is that MediaPortal utilizes WMP so maybe this is the problem you have with MediaPortal in combination with FFDshow.
