I have an ATI All-In-Wonder 9000, and by doing research, it appears that this card is SUPPOSED to have a hardware MPEG2 encoder onboard, which would classify it as a "Hardware Analog TV Tuner" which should work according to the mediaportal wiki.

However, whenever I try to scan for channels in the TV-Server setup, it reports "No Signal" for every channel.

I am assuming that therefore, the card is using software decoding, and there is some kind of issue.

However, I found several old threads, (pre 2007) discussing several work arounds, such as un-commenting sections of a seemingly archaic XML file, installing certain drivers, modifying graphs, etc.

I was curious is anyone knows whether or not any of this old information still holds, especially considering I am using the 1.2.0 alpha, and if there is any new information I have not found!

As far as i know, the 9000 is just software based, the hardware encoding is in the 9000 PRO.
This could explain the troubles you're having.

Ah, OK, that clears up a lot.

I know for a fact I have the All-In-Wonder 9000, and NOT the pro, so now I know my card is software based!

However, I have found information about work arounds for the 9000 to work with media portal, but all the posts are from 2007, and for a much older version of the software.

The most common information I have found can be viewed here:

Does anyone know if that still holds, or if there is a new work around?

As I said on the other thread: we need to see your TV Server logs.

On XP you can find these in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\log. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data is a hidden folder so you'll need to paste the path into the address bar of windows explorer to get there (unless you have the "show hidden files and folders" setting enabled).

I need the tv.log and error.log files...

The XML in that thread that you linked is *very* out of date. There is still XML config for analog cards in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\AnalogCard, but I would not recommend touching this unless you know what you are doing.

Just an update for anyone following this issue, I have posted a graph of my card filters in an attempt for the MP team to add support for the aiw9000, because it appears that the card is currently unsupported. Big thanks to mm1352000 for the time he has put in on my behalf, and I can only pray that support is added!!!
