Hi, Since yesterday my sound is gone in MP. I haven't changed anything in the configuration as far as i can remember. Neither did i install any new codecs. It's all sound, video, music, as well as the sound from the skin itself. But outside MP all works fine. Vista sounds and winamp and VLC player work just like they should. My sound. I thought it had something todo with my own setup, so i tried all new drivers and vista updates, but now my brother has the same issues, with completely other hardware. So i figured we cant be the only two...

So i hope someone can point me in the right direction for fixing this problem. Watching movies with only subtitles gets kinda frustrating...

OK assuming you have in MP config audio renderer set to default directsound device, and with something playing, keyboard attached, bring up the start menu to gain access to the task bar, select your speaker icon in the taskbar and see if MP is muted, if so just uncheck.

If it not, then maybe, just maybe you've got the same problem that my neighbour had this last friday, where his sound suddenly went all peculiar with his Realtek ALC889A as well, uninstalling the driver and software, rebooting and reinstalling from the motherboard utilities cd fixed this for him.

Wonder if there was a windows update for this over the last week that's gone pear shaped, whilst your at it get the latest directx from here.

The November Directx update is not working, so M$ may be having some problems with there servers.

Thanx for the fast reply! It was indeed muted. I did look over there, but not while running MP. I didn't know MP had it's own channel.
Still I'm wondering how it suddenly got muted
