All videos stopped playing and MP freezes (1 Viewer)

A very wierd problem has occurred whereby any attempt to play any video file within MP causes MP to freeze and i have to go into task manger to kill it , my setup was working perfectly and played every file i threw at it and i cant recall changing anything to make this happen i have tried different GFX drivers and have uninstalled SAF 6 and reinstalled yet it still freezes.

Ps this happens in moving pictures,My videos and with recorded TV

Well 10 hours of fixing with two clean installs of Win 7 and i was still getting MP freezing on all video playback thats was until i deleted a folder containing a partially ripped blu ray film and hey presto a working MP i am dumfounded as to why this could cause the whole of MP to freeze but it did.
