AMD C&Q causing stutter of AC3 (1 Viewer)

Hello,

never stumbled about it before, but now i know that the AMD C&Q function causes my AC3 stutter.

Video and MPEG audio was good, but AC3 kept stuttering. I tried everything, but 2 days ago i read somthing about C&Q maybe causing it.

Ok, i disabled it, and now it runs fine.

But, what is C&Q worth then? What is an AMD System worth then? Is it only a special combination of Hardware causing it, or is it the C&Q function in it self?
Are all your AMD systems running fine? Is it only the single core CPU the makes problems, and dualcore, with patch, not having them?

I opted for the AMD because of C&Q, and the price, and never read something about the problem.

Is there a solution?

Maybe someone knows an answer or hint

I have a similar problem which has it's root in CnQ.
When I have CnQ running there are artifacts all over the image during live tv.
But if I disable CnQ all works flawless.

PS. I have an 3800+ X2, so it's a dual core problem as well, not limited to single core

note 1: One important thing to concider is also the fact that this only happens in x64. In Vista x86 I had no problem at all with CnQ. And RMClock wont work in Vista x64 since the driver is not digitally signed.

Perhaps a tip:
Try using RMClock - http://cpu.rightmark.org/download.shtml

I might add that I have no problems with CnQ - but I am experiencing lip-sync issues. I'll try disabling CnQ to determine if this is caused by CnQ as well.

C&Q running nicely here an all machines. Just all recent realtek drivers do not
However did you try another audio codec as well?

Download the Dualcore optimiser from the AMD drivers webpage, should solve dualcore C&Q problem.

EDIT: whoops just noticed the x64 part, not sure whether there is one, but worth checking anyway.

Dual Core optimizer is installed, but is not a solution to the problem.
I don't know if this is even a mediaportal problem since I know that the Mantis 2033 card that I use has overall not so good drivers. I know this because about 90% of all BSODs are caused by MtsBDA.sys which is part of the drivers for the tv-card. So therefore I did not mention this 'bug' before.

I also recommend RMClock, it's a great little freeware app that controls power management much better than CnQ. I also run it on my laptop as it does a much better job of power management than the Toshiba or Asus applications

Hi,

k, will give RMclock a try.
CnQ is still enabled in the bios, but i disabled it in the energie option.

I tried every AudiCodec i could get my hand on, same for the video.
Now it runs perfect, not... i still have a problem that the video (recordec .ts from digital cabel) starts to stutter after some time. have to make some logs for that.

Hi,

right now i have this https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/vista_and_evr_support_part_2-t30845.html?t=30845 on my HTPC.
I disabled exclusive directx, and enabled evr. It seems that i now have no problems with running cnq.

Maybe the exclusice directx is causing trouble with cnq.

And it seems i have no tearing with the new dshowhelper.dll... at least in most of my films.

Lets see how it works in the long run.
