    aMPed - the alternative skin - v 3.6.3 (for MP 1.9.0) - Released Oct. 25, 2014
V 3.6.3 is a minor update for MP 1.6.0/1.7.x and updated plugins (see Changelog below for details).

Note: aMPed's abbreviated date formats will only work in MP 1.9.0+, and now work for non-English Windows OS. If you wish to use aMPed's abbreviated date format (selected by default in aMPedConfig) with English (US) Windows OS and MP 1.8.0 or earlier, then copy the attached common.time.xml to your aMPed skin folder.

Download: aMPed 3.6.3 (for MP 1.9.0) via MP Downloads Repository or MPEI (MediaPortal Extension Installer)

v 3.6.0 - major update intoducing custom themes, skin settings and many new skin features.
Version 3.6.0 introduces Custom Colorized Themes
Pimp your aMPed skin - just color by numbers!
Easily change text colors throughout the skin.
Example: I created the Bollywood theme in about 10 minutes, so Vintage Basic Home layout in aMPed theme

    VintageBH_aMPedTheme.jpg
looks like this in Bollywood Theme
    VintageBH_BollywoodTheme.jpg
Now you can modify or create themes for aMPed without creating a single graphic (though you can if you wish). Simply edit the colors for text or graphics in the aMPedColors.xml in any theme folder. The skin file contains tips and help and fourteen different themes have been provided to get you started. For further info, see Custom Themes in the aMPed wiki.

    What's the advantage?
    • adjust the brightness/contrast of skin colors to suit your taste or monitor/TV 'temperature' (without affecting your preferred settings for video/tv playback)
    • choose brighter themes for daytime, and subtler themes at night
    • modify different themes to suit the decor of each room or the taste of each user
    • if you know RGB color codes it takes minutes to create a new themeno re-caching of graphics required for switching themes
Is there a color chart I can use to change the colors instead of editing them in an editor?
Unfortunately not. I found it essential to view the colors in MP as I selected them and MP GUI does not yet support color selection via a chart.

aMPed continues to be the skin you can practically design yourself. While the main focus is on fully visible fanart/backdrops, you can choose the style you prefer: fanart (fully visible), wide fanart (full-screen backdrop) or no fanart; big or normal cover size, even the width of lists.

See the aMPed Gallery for screenshots of all the layouts and features! Or check out the slideshow via MPEI.

In addition to the custom colorized themes, you can now change most aMPed options with MP GUI Skin Settings:

    Hi Dadeo,

I have a bug related to amped I think. I tried to make logs for MP but found out in the Original skin, it does never happen, so it must have something to do with amped i guess.

I have this problem now for two years, but never took the time to report it as I couldn't tell when it exact happens. But now I know :)

When I watch photo's, zoom in on a photo and push either stop or back, I get a black screen. MP still responds (I hear the skin sounds when I press a button), but the screen remains black. I have to restart MP to get it working again.

I made the logs attached to this post.

One thing: I use modified basic home menu files you made for me to get the fanart backdrops in all the menu's.
My basic home files from the skin directory are attached as well.

Hope you have some time to have a look :)

    Thanks in advance!

Hi Bas. The 'good' (?) news is I can reproduce your issue, I think ;) . Just to confirm:
    1. Open MediaPortal and go to Pictures
    2. Press Enter on a Pic to open it
    3. Press PageUP/Down (or Channel UP/Down on remote) to zoom out/in.
    4. Press Esc/back or Home or any other key

Then screen is black. I get errors in MediaPortal-Error.log - "object reference not set.... blah blah". But ofc it doesn't say anywhere what is missing  so it may take me a while of trial and error to see if I can figure out what is causing the issue :( Just wanted to let you know I'm looking at it.

Oddly the logs you attached don't show the error - and I can't see anywhere in MediaPortal.log where you actually zoomed a pic, but if I can fix it here we can test my fix and see if it works for you.

    Hi,

Yes that is how I did it.
No hurry, it is there for a very long time and I thought it was a MP issue.

That's good because I haven't figured it out yet! The error in my log was due to something else so I also don't have any info in logs when the issue occurs :(
I've tried all the usual methods, but nothing 'fixes' it. It's not easy when I have no clue or info what is causing it. I'm not even sure which skin xml has the issue. It's weird because if you don't zoom you can go back to the pictures window without any problem. You can also display a slide show, with various effects etc. and return to pictures or home. The only problem I have found so far is after you zoom a picture. But I can't imagine how an 'action' like zoom, which shouldn't have anything to do with the actual skin, would cause such an issue. But I'm sure it will all make sense once I figure it out. :p But it may take a while since I've run out of things to try atm, so I'm waiting for inspiration of something else to try.

    Thanks for your patience.

    Hi again,

I also thought it was a MP thing, but when I was making the logs, it didn't came up anymore :)
The strange thing is that if you zoom out again after zooming, you still get the error....
Like you trigger something with zooming you can't undo.
