    Hi again memphisto20

I've had a really good look at your logs and looked up "vorschau" on Google translate. Apparently vorschau is German for "preview". The logs tell me that the vorschau pin is definitely a video pin. There is no way that it will connect as an audio pin so there is no point in making the patch that I originally intended to provide to you - it would never have worked...

I also found this page and this page. It looks like your card is designed for capturing uncompressed video and doesn't actually support audio.

What I have done is to create a patch that provides a work-around for cards like yours that either only support video, or only support audio. Please can you try it (same instructions as for the last patch) and let me know if it allows you to watch video.

    hi,
i am back. i am sorry to say that i did not get you patch working.

I can now scan for channels. and the software even regocnizes the channelname as you can see in the screenshot (Clipboard01.jpg).
but once i click on preview i get the following error:
    Preview filed: NoVideoAudioDetected

If I try to watch TV using the client I get a similar error message.

Logs attached. Thanks for your time !

    regards

    hi,

thanks for working on this problem, meanwhile I took the hauppauge card out of my system because its only for a cam looking in the garden and in this actual configuration I'm working with a USB grabber...

While reading this thread I got the idea that the hauppauge card do not have a own audio input. To get audio fro this card i had to connect a cable between hauppauge tv card an mic input. Perhaps thats the problem??

    Hi again memphisto20 and ramu

So I was right - the tuner does not support audio. It requires the sound card cable connection. I can see from memphisto20's logs that the patch is partially working. It allows the graph to be built correctly and for scanning to succeed. Now the failure is in the timeshifting part which requires audio to be present. To get this to work I would have to add the sound card line/mic input to the graph... The problem is that I have no idea how to do this! I will do some research.

@memphisto20: your logs are *very* long! Next time, could you please delete the TV Server logs, try to preview just one channel, and then post the new logs.

    hi mm,
it realy looks like the patch is looks like the patch is working partially.
once i start the peview i get sound but no picture.
but after a few seconds it always shows the same error:
    NoVideoAudioDetected

in the main application i can also switcht between channels.
including audio. and again . after e few seconds it gives me
    the same error.

i attached a couple of logfiles. may be you guys got an idea ?

    regards

    Hi memphisto20

I understand exactly what the problem is - like I said before, the patch *is* partially working but the problem is with timeshifting. You hear audio from your sound card, but that audio isn't being passed through MediaPortal so MediaPortal doesn't detect it. When MediaPortal can't detect audio it will give the NoVideoAudioDetected error.

I'm working on a patch to fix this but you need to give me more time. The fix is quite complex and I'm quite busy at the moment!

If you want to help me finish faster then there is one thing that you could do:

    1. Open GraphStudio (the program that I asked you to download earlier).
    2. Click on the "graph" menu, then click "insert filter" (1st item).
    3. In the top left box select "audio capture sources".
    4. In the box beside it select "all filters".
    5. Take a screenshot (so that I can see the list).
    6. Double-click on each entry in the list to insert one copy of each capture filter into the graph.
    7. Close the "filters" window by clicking on the cross in the top right corner.
    8. Click on the "graph" menu, then click "make graph screenshot".
    9. Post the two screenshots here.

    I apologise for the delay.

i did not want to rush you.
i can imagine that writing the fix takes some time.
    no need to apologise.
