[QUOTE="PhilMcCavity, post: 794408, member: 75436"] This looks like a nice piece of software, however I'm seeing a few glitches and I'm not sure which ones relate to which components. I have a good (2 or 3 bars out of 3) wireless connection to a Zetec ePad running Android 2.2. Mediaportal 1.2 is running on a quad-core machine with a gigabit ethernet connection. I note that the plugin pages for the software components say it's compatible with MP 1.1.2, so it may be that my MP 1.2 install is the cause of some of what I see below : 1 - Remote control functionality (I see this on 2 different MP clients) : a - When I first select an MP client and hit "connect", aMPDroid stays on that screen indefinitely. Once I hit a button on the "real" remote, it then comes to life. The aMPDroid buttons then intermittently stop working until I again use the real remote. Subsequently (this is the nexct day after shutting down the computer overnight) aMPDroid is unable to connect at all - from the screen where I select which MP server to connect to, it takes about 5 seconds to go through to the screen where I can select remote/streaming etc but it does so with a message saying "unable to connect", and any subsequent button pushes give me a "not connected" message. I have made no configuration changes since last night when it was (kinda) working. b - I have MP set to go idle and turn off the screen after 5 inactive minutes. Once MP drops into this state, aMPDroid won't do anything until I use the remote control or the mouse to bring the screen back to life. 2 - Streaming a - I realise that the program was largely designed to run on a phone, however it would be great if it could run in landscape mode on my tablet. b - When I connected it to my TV server yesterday to stream TV it connected ok and showed me the correct channel groups, but after half an hour of it saying "downloading channels" I gave up. 3 - Installers The TV4Home and GMA installers run but without any user feedback. Most installers tell you when the install is complete but these just run and terminate silently. The only way to tell they're installed is to check the running services. I think they could do with a completion message. The wifiremote installer should probably check for the presence of Bonjour and prompt for the user to install it - until you go into the configuration for wifiremote it's quite possible to miss out installing Bonjour, and that's another possible showstopper for the installation. 4 - Firewall Despite opening what appear to be the correct ports, things were still blocked. The only way I could get a reliable connection at all was to turn off the firewall altogether (though of course now it doesn't connect...) Are there any logs which might show what's going wrong?
