OB2 I have just rebuilt my test partition in preperation for this. I have just dumped down XP and SP2 just now. I want to install the minimum at this stage as I hate having too many codecs, etc floating around.

To ensure maximium compatibility, can you tell me exactly what you are using?
Graphics card driver - Catalyst version, CCC installed, WDM version, or is an omega driver
Codec - intervideo and DivX versions (or URL links)?
MediaPortal version?

Anything else that might affect it?

Thank you very much for all you have done so far.

Everyone
Can you tell me how you get on with your card. LiveTV, audio, capture, compression, etc. That way we can identify which card this new support has helped and which still needs further work.

Lady_Sapphire and PABeaver - I have updated the original list. Thanks very much for the updates.

Thanks! I'll test the new version and get back to you with all of the info you're looking for.

OB2 - Totally understand and appreciate the offer to help out. Maybe if I get the Compro, I'll buy 2 and send ya one :D Thanks bigtime for giving us ATI users another reason to use MediaPortal!

Forbes:

Tested on:

Built By ATI Radeon 9800 Pro AIW
Original Catalyst 4.11
Divx 5.2.1
Cyberlink PowerDVD 4.0 (seems to work ok now? go figure)
Mediaportal Version (latest CVS, no version number?)

I have no idea what you mean in regards to CCC.

I am fine if I don't compress audio as media portal + divx compression = 80% cpu so I get good TV recording.

As to my WDM version I have no idea other than it's the latest offical.

Thanks OB2, CCC is Catalyst Control Centre. It's the difference between the first and second version here (just a replacement for the normal display properties windows):

If you don't compress audio, how big are the files? Will have a chance on Tue night to spend a couple of hours with this.

Has anyone tried it with Intervideo codec or other codecs with success? Thanks all.

Hi,
I have an ATI AIW 9600xt.

What is your config under Capture Cad Settings for MP configuration? Basically, what do you have video compressor and audio compressor set to?
I can view television video within MP, but I can not capture it properly. I have a graph of my setup in the other thread, with the rest of the graphs.

Can I get everyone whos card did not work in 0.12 but does in 0.13 so I can match you entries up with the list above and work to support those it is not working for and why it is not working for some of you.

I am aware of the ATI Rage 128 AIW issues. I will try and provide support however this card is not directx9 compatiable and therefore is not technically supported by mediaportal.

Unfortunately, I have not had much chance this week to test it. I did manage a few minutes on Tuesday night, just to see if it would work with my 9600xt. It recorded, and I could watch live tv at the same time. The de-interlacing issues on live TV are now fixed :D . The quality of the recording was not good but I think that was because I had it set to full framesize. Will try it with 320x240 as I see you have suggested in another thread.

My biggest problem was that when I tried to play back the recorded tv, the live tv audio continued to play over the top. Closing the recorded show, and then even closing MP did not release the live tv audio. Couldn't find any obvious processes to kill in task manager so I had to reboot the machine. Don't know if this was being caused by something else or has already been reported in mantis. Might not be related to your work.

Anyway, I will certainly have much more time this weekend to play with this, and will report back more detail. Thanks.

I will take a look, I personally have not experienced it personally. You do have the MP config set to the correct audio card/input? So that mediaportal can turn the input on/off?
